The tasks of [Multinational Specialized Unit] at regimental level consists of public security, assistance in the return of refugees, implementation of local government structures elected by minority groups as well as a contribution in the management of the critical situation regarding law and order in coordination with the IPTF.

Commento: questo è engliano allo stato puro, un testo pieno zeppo di errori e in cui la morfologia della frase e la sintassi rimangono totalmente italiane. (La complicata descrizione sotto il titolo International Police Cooperation, per esempio, è stata tradotta in modo da risultare del tutto incomprensibile. Non solo, il testo contiene anche un’involontaria battuta: i Carabinieri intendono «esportare le informazioni» raccolte con la loro esperienza nella criminalità organizzata—o meglio quelle raccolte con l’esperienza nella lotta alla criminalità organizzata? Si spera la seconda ipotesi, ma il testo è lungi dal dissipare il dubbio.) In questo caso il «traduttore» ha sostituito le parole italiane con quelle inglesi, ma non ha tradotto… vale a dire che non è riuscito a creare un testo scritto in un inglese fluido, corrente, sensato.
Se valeva la pena di scrivere questo testo in italiano – e cioè, se i suoi autori volevano davvero comunicare qualcosa al pubblico – allora perché mai, ci si domanda, si sono accontentati di una fallatissima versione in uno pseudo-inglese che non comunica niente? Un testo in engliano è peggio di una traduzione che non c’è.
