L’italiese non è troppo dissimile dall’engliano: un’altra lingua figlia del disprezzo sia per l’italiano, sia per l’inglese, e della generale indifferenza verso la traduzione come mestiere.
Più che altro l’italiese si nutre di arroganza, se vogliamo: dell’idea che «qualunque» inglese vada bene; che agli anglofoni dovrebbe bastare il men che minimo sforzo fatto per fornire loro testi «tradotti», che tradurre è facile e chiunque può farlo; e infine, ancora una volta, che la lingua non conta poi così tanto.
Non di rado l’italiese viene accompagnato dai «motori di traduzione» presenti su Internet, come Google Translate oppure Babel Fish, di Yahoo (si veda anche l’articolo di ProvenWrite Non importa, purché costi poco). Di certo i programmi di traduzione on-line sono stati inventati a un utile scopo: aiutarci a comprendere i siti web scritti in lingue che non conosciamo. Possono darci un’idea generale del significato di un testo, ma non hanno mai inteso sostituire la traduzione professionale.
Purtroppo, però, vengono sempre più usati a questo scopo.
Ecco qui due esempi di italiese, tra i miei preferiti: in entrambi i casi è chiaro che gli autori dei siti rappresentati hanno usato del software reperito su Internet per creare una «traduzione» che poi è sembrata «abbastanza buona» da poter essere messa on-line.
Li metto qui così, senza commento, perché… cosa vogliamo commentare?
